Jalandhar: Different genres of presentations on the second day of National Open Fest-Youth Vibe-2013, at LPU, gripped the onlookers with ‘Social Cause’ based themes. Whether the competitions were for theatre, painting or literary presentations, social themes outdid the other competitions. Mainly such presentations were in the plays, Nukkad Natak, Comedy Mimicry and solo presentations. LPU’s play ‘KESAR GANGA’, which was based on social problem, got first position; whereas, another play ‘Kumaraswamy’ adjudged second and ‘Aankhen’ was much liked.
In the painting competitions different social problems were highlighted beautifully in different presentations. On one side paintings revealed pollution related issue, and on the others drugs addiction, female feticide etc. In literary competitions like Extempore, Debate, Symposium students picked up themes in relation to wickedness in religion, politics and above all corruption.
Seeing the presentations with such themes, LPU Pro-Chancellor Ms Rashmi Mittal praised students and their teachers and said: “I am very happy to see needed awareness among the students. It is certain that in the coming years all bad customs and social ills will be completely eradicated from the society through such efforts of Indian Youth.
