Jalandhar: Creating the biggest competitive platform for talented students of India, LPU is going to organise three-day National Open Fest- “YOUTH VIBE- 2013” from 21st Octoberonwards. More than 2000 colleges & 30,000 students are expected to participate in the fest. The event is going to be a unified national level property with more than 200 competitions in cultural, technical, literary and allied activities. Mammoth congregation of student fraternity will not only have knowledge and fun based lifetime experience, but also step ahead to win prizes worth Rs18 lac (in cash & kind). Each day will have star nights including that of Astitva-the Bombay Band, Bolly-wood stars, Mtv Roadies fame Raghu Ram, TV Serial Actor Karanvir Bohra, UK based singer Juggy D, and “har ek friend jaroori hota hae” song fame Aditi Singh. Other singers & performers of repute will be surprising disclosure on the related day.
During competitions, Fashion Show based on dresses and props of different states of India, Short Film Making, Choreography, Quiz competitions, Rock band competition, Indian Folk dances, Theatre- skills, Photography, Sketching, and Painting will enthrall all. No audition will be required for any of the technical, Literary, Quiz, Photography competitions. However, short-listing shall be for Music, Dance, Theatre and Film Production category and mega cultural competitions, through Online and Off line modes. For Technical competitions students will show their skills for many of the interesting competitions like building a bridge bearing maximum load and minimum deflection; unpowered aircraft to glide for maximum distance with maximum stay in the air; designing of Robot for real Robo-Wars; and, to build a Remote Controlled IC engine powered car to traverse track in minimum time. For Robotics competitors will come forward with Wireless airboat; Warship; remote Controlled Hovercraft; Robot with an eye to sense. Similarly, Mechanical & Civil Engineering students will face Rocket Designing; Software based architectural designing, 3D model designing, and drawing 360 degree view. Programming will include Coded Treasure Hunt, algorithm designing for security. Sciences will require expertise in Chemical Based Cars; Miscellaneous category will include LED Display, Circuit Design Challenge; Business will have B-Plan Competition, Act to sell etc.
Encouraging students from all part of the country to participate, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said: "Most of the students have talent to do things beyond regular academic lessons, and ‘Youth Vibe’ is a big platform where such extraordinary students are encouraged to excel. Here students are being provided ample opportunities in almost all areas to showcase their innovative executions.”
