Jalandhar: In today’s challenging economy, about 70 most popular MNCs & other national companies, attracted many thousands of the talented students at Lovely Professional University’s Career cum Job Fair-2012, which took place on the campus for two days. The visited MNCs and other recruiters have either offered jobs or shortlisted near three thousands of them and after having further nods from their higher authorities the selection lists will be forwarded, at least, in a week’s time. The selected ones are expected to get job offers with salary packages ranging between Rs 2 to 5 lacs. Most of them are to be recruited as (1) Software Developers, Process Associates, Trainee Engineers, PHP Developers for Maruti Udyog, Dell, Beetel, Techies India Inc, Acid India, Neumeric Technologies, Innova Lab; (2) Assistant Branch Managers for HR, Marketing, Finance areas for Godfrey Phillips India, Aircel, Godrej, Videocon, Genpact, DTDC, HDFC Bank;(3) Business Developing Executives for ICICI Prudential Life Insurance co ltd, NIIT, Groomers; Unit Managers, Financial Services Consultants,(4) Assistant Production Incharge for Ralson India, Sukhjit Starch and Chemicals, Spirex Pharma. In addition, there is also a long list of many other suitable posts with more companies. As being felt, the fair has proved as the largest recruiting event in India for companies and institutions.
Owing to the great success of the Job fair, the Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, Mr Ashok Mittal exclaimed: “It is indeed heartening that the expected salary package offers for the students are between 2 to 5 lacs, at such an initial and training stage. With the great accomplishment of this fair, we hope to see the double number of companies, to get exceeded to 150 at least, in the next fair, where we will strive to also see the foreign players in addition to the increase in number of top Indian Industry.” He further added: “We feel that our University has now become a one-stop shelter for employers looking for the most talented brains from around India; and, also for job seekers to choose their coveted companies for the best possible placements with them. Moreover, it is also a healthy sign that top companies have revealed trust in our endeavours towards this fair.” It is worth noticing that the candidates not only fresher but professionals also participated, in this fair. Participating employers selected candidates from the proprietary online database and also held interviews at the fair.
