Jalandhar: Lovely Professional University organised enthralling “Kavi Sammelan” so that students might keep on imbibing the Indian values, holding aloft the flag of great Indian Cultural heritage. The theme of the ‘Sammelan’ remained: "Ho gayi hai peer parvat si, pighalni chahiye; Is himalaye se, koi ganga nikalni chahiye". 14 Promising Poets of the university enthralled the audience through their marvelous presentations on different modes and moods. Highlighting among these remained Politics, Corruption, Bravery, Patriotism, Laughter, Love & Social. University’s Student Project Cell had made this drive under the banner ‘Rashtriya Manak Hindi Bhasha Samiti’ to commemorate ‘Hindi Diwas’. The Director General of the University, Er H R Singla was the Chief Guest of the event.
Being overwhelmed with the great emotions expressed by the young and modern generation of young poets at LPU; he congratulated and further inspired all the participants: “The talent showcased by the students of Professional Programmes and of different regions has much to be appreciated and applauded. This is real Unity in Diversity, as the students hailing from diverse fields and creeds have orated and expressed the common feelings of common men/women. Our university will keep on organizing such events so that students may nourish within them a spirit of nationalism and national character.”
Illustrative, sudden showers of rain tried to hinder the organization; however, the event went on with flow of deep seated emotions of the budding poets to make it a grand success, indeed. The audience did not budge from their seats even for a moment or an inch. On contacting some of the participating poets, Priyanshu K “Delaer”, Anant Bhardwaj, Mohd Saffiullah, Kajal Kishori, Shashank Trivedi, Kumar Sataym, they wanted such organizations to continue to have a great cathartic effort and to remain connected to Indian Values and culture.
