Jalandhar: Envisioned to make Healthcare and Scientific Information Open Access; a world class open access (OA) publisher and scientific event organizer, OMICS Group has recently selected twenty five students of Lovely Professional University. Selected as ‘Trainees’ towards different life Sciences Research endeavours of the group; these students will join their duties in the month of July 2012. Students of M.Tech /M.Sc/B.Tech- Biotechnology, M.Sc Micro-Biology/ Bio Chemistry, passing out 2012 batch, had been invited to undergo selection criterion at Mini Auditorium of the University. The different roles & responsibilities, for this job, primarily include liaising with scientists from USA, Europe, Japan and other scientifically advanced countries.
On this achievement of the students, the Director General of LPU, Er. HR Singla said: “It is a matter of immense pleasure that LPU students have been placed with one of the top ranked publishing houses of the world. The added magnificence is that Indian girls are proving their worth in each and every field as this placement has seen near 80 % selection of girls.”
Explicatory, working for the Advancement of Science & Technology, OMICS Publishing Group will utilize students’ services, towards its registered offices in India and USA, for preparing research highlights in different disciplines of science and technology. Moreover, the selected ones will handle ‘Processing review of recent scientific reports/articles, Organizing scientific events /conferences by inviting eminent speakers from prestigious Universities and leaders from Industries across the globe. In fact, an interactive open access journal for the communication of all scientific and medical research, ‘OMICS’ has been ranked among top nine publishers of the world by Index Copernicus (IC) International, which is a Web-based Research Infrastructure providing essential tools for scientists, research administrators and government agencies world over.
Expressing mirth on being selected, Noopur Kejriwal said: “I and my selected batch mates are very happy on this selection. Now, I personally feel that I have achieved a part of that I aspired. It is indeed a great chance for me and I will leave no stone unturned to be up to the expectations of my selectors.”
