Jalandhar: First lady Chairperson of the Punjab School Education Board, Dr Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal declared second day of state-level co-curricular competitions open today at Lovely Professional University. Praising rural scenic depictions at LPU stages for hosting the massive competitions and encouraging the students Dr Dhaliwal said: “Such big-stages take students to greater heights by growing them in all rounded personality. I am happy to see motivating environment at LPU which is giving way to the feelings and talents of young students of Punjab. Students will learn many good practices like commitment, vision, exposure, latest technology etc being adopted on such a vast campus. I advise students to learn from competitions and grow to be on higher daises in time to come.” Dr Dhaliwal also revealed about her commitment to over-haul the Board system by bringing sea changes in books, software utilization, technology, examinations, online registration, certificate verifications etc as per the need of the hour. She desired anti copying campaign to take a form of movement by awakening all strata of the society.
Winner students of Category-II (Class VI to VIII) of four regions-Jalandhar, Amritsar, Bathinda & SAS Nagar performed for 12 competitions- Shabad Gayan, Declamation, Painting, Calligraphy, Folk Songs, Solo Dances, Giddha, Kavishri, War Gayan, Bhangra, General Knowledge, Poetic-Recitations. Students are displaying the best talents and attracting the audience through their marvelous and mesmerizing performances. In one act plays they presented vulnerable social themes like Female feticide & molestation, Drug-Addiction, Corruption, Unemployment, War-Horrors, Poverty etc which filled all on-lookers with deep emotions. Kavishri, Poetic recitations and War Gayan brought chivalry, Shabad Gayan spread spirituality, GK contests swelled intelligence, Calligraphy & Painting beautified the environ, and Giddha & Bhangra displays let all dance along with the participants. The conclusive day on 28th November will witness 17 competitive events for Category-III (Class IX to XII) .
Results of Today’s events are – In Solo Dance competition Mansi stood first (Sr. Sec School, Punjabi University, Patiala), Taranpreet Kaur stood second (Gobind Model School, Puri, Sangrur) and Khushbu stood third (GN Public Sr Sec School, Ludhiana). In War Gayan competition Harjit Singh & friends stood first position, Harmandeep Kaur and friends stood second and Simranjit Kaur & friends stood third position. In Calligraphy competition Amandeep Singh stood first position (Sr Sec School, Uddat Saidewala) Harsatdeep Kaur stood second (Baba Farid Sr Sec School, Bathinda) and Simran Kaur stood third (Sarkari Kanya Sr Sec School, Sohian Ludhiana). In Shabad Gayan competition Pavneet Kaur stood first, Mehak stood second and Taranpreet Kaur stood third position. In GK Test competition Manjinder Kaur stood first (St. Soldier Sr. Sec School, Jandiala Guru), Aastha stood second (Bharti Model Sr Sec School, Rampura Road, Bathinda) and Mehakjot Singh stood third (Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Sr Sec School, Ludhiana)
