Jalandhar: In the most esteemed and largest annual B-Schools (MBA) Survey-2013 conducted by prominent business magazine ‘Business World’ (BW), LPU has been ranked above IIT Delhi in the pedagogy area. Ranked three steps ahead at number 21 nationally, LPU has amassed 92 scores, whereas IIT Delhi is at 24 with 90 scores. These scores are calculated for Soft-Skills Development Programme, Entrance Test Scores, Curriculum Review, Elective Review, Student & Faculty Exchange Programmes, Students sent abroad, and Policy against Plagiarism. The survey comprised objective as well as perceptual survey where a total of 1,171 respondents (from management education system) were interviewed across 11 cities: Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Chennai & Hyderabad.
Mentioning about the survey, Editor of BW Prosenjit Datta holds: “The best B-schools are improving constantly- a majority of the survey participants have improved their infrastructure, faculty or curriculum. This year, our method of assigning scores-both absolute and relative- has changed marginally.” To gather data on various parameters, BW team had emailed a structured questionnaire to 425+ B-schools across India. The information was thoroughly checked for accuracy and further validated from secondary sources and finally 123 institutes were ranked. In fact, institutes were divided across four zones and divided into 16 match panels, and each B-school was exposed to at least 75 respondents. In this regard, academic community of faculty members, recruiters, industry experts, MBA aspirants, existing B-school students and parents of students contributed a lot.
Encouraging LPU’s B-School Team, Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said: “It is indeed inspirational to note that LPU has excelled prominent institutions even under such a rigorous process for both objective and perceptual surveys. However, we will have to continue putting more and novel efforts now to work in accordance to the lurking needs in the present management education. Such achievement is not only taking LPU to new heights but also promoting Punjab as the hub of higher education in India and globally.” Mr Mittal continued: “In the fast changing education field, our B-School keeps on striving to prepare students to differentiate themselves from others. They are readied to enter competitive world of international business, and for this all requisites are accorded to them.”
Illustrative, year after year, LPU has proved its competence by winning awards and accolades for its contributions to the management education. Last year also LPU has been ranked as the Asia’s’ Best Emerging Business School in the award function at Singapore.
